The Unnofficial Sims 2 tech-guide is my boyfriends site-it's not an ordinary website, it gives all sorts of useful advice, explained out in great detail, with pictures so you don't get confused. The guide on improving game performance are great! My game plays smoothly, and I play sims on a 3 year old laptop. Check it out!

oh cool!!!! The setup is really nice! Reminds me a little of simlogical, but softer colors. cool! haha Thanks for the link!!! fyi--dunno if your boy knows this but the script he's using for the fly-out help section, it sticks if you rollover it while down the page. I had to click it and roll back to the top of the page to get it to go back. Justa heads up.

Okay, I'll let him know that PS, can you let me know what browser you are using? Because sometimes things act differently on different browsers. *edit*: I am using firefox, and for me, all I need to do is move my mouse away from it, and it goes right back.

yeah, I was using Opera at the time. It went away when I moved away from it, but only if I was at the top of the page and hadn't scrolled down at all. If I scrolled down towards the bottom of the page, and THEN did the rollover thing. It got stuck. haha Dunno what it's problem was.

See if he knows what I have to hack to get a better LOD in the neighborhood views.

oh, sorry forgot about this... the level of detail... say, your 3d model is a hundred miles away from the camera there's no reason to spend all your resources having it at full detail, so the farther away it is the lower the LOD... anyway, the neighborhood looks like crap all the time.

There's no hack for that, no... Just optimising everything for better perfmormance, and getting a better graphics card

*buzz* Incorrect... XD
Thanks for playing tho... that computer smoked every game, including Oblivion and F.E.A.R... it's something in the sims code screwing up the neighborhood textures... but I don't think I'll even install the game again, unless Pets looks really good.

Ohhh...are you saying your textures used to be good but then something happend so that they suddenly are not anymore and you do not know why? For me...my textures started "failing" (Bluring) midway through playing after I installed nightlife. This has happened to most people. One thing you may want to try is a seprorate user-account just for playing sims 2...it says how to set it up on tech-guide, and it makes the game run a whole lot faster, and smoother.
