Well, I know I've not updated my site in ages, but I just wanted to show you what I've been working on. I'm trying to build better houses using different techniques and things that use the cool features within the game (read: boolProp constrainFloorElevation false, boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false ) that I've always been shy to use. So this is my first attempt at more intermediate building. I am definately liking how it is coming along. It is by no means close to being finished, but it's progressing. I definately like the faux flower boxes (just the plain old foundation and the large flower arrangement and bamboo thrown together) that I found out about via a tut on The Exchange. I never realized there were so many COOL things on there! Let me know what you think, purdy please. I'm thinking about making the white wall with the trim slightly bluer to go with the brick better, which also has some blue in it. PS The pond actually extends INTO the house!

Wow! The pond goes inside the house!? thats so cool Kari! The house as a whole looks so grand and modern, yet still traditional because of the brick and fairy tale bridge over the pond. You have done an amazing job on this. I give you a karma point for your talents!!

It's wonderful! I have to agree! ;D haha You're in my head Kari, I just tried to use that darn boolProp constrain cheat the other day (haven't done much with snapObjects)--but isn't it fun to just mess around? I've been wanting to do more modern type buildings/mid-century contemporary and trying to incorporate more split-levels. It's hard work! Esp when it warps your walls and trying to use a paint on it that not only looks good as far as the wall bend issue but also so that it fits the aesthetic of the overall home. Your lot looks fantastic! You've done a really good job with making the garden growth surrounding it look very much real. A++ in my book. The pond adds a very nice touch creating a serene place to retreat to--and I have to agree, the idea of it running inside was awesome! Gosh, I sound like such a dork. lol I just love architecture. You've done a good job! Make that great! I actually like the use of the colors you used. I can see the hint of blue you were talking about, but I think the color you used brings out that taupe color in the brick and gives it a more warm feeling. I suppose that's my two cents and then some.
